In the 11th century he serves as a troubadour accompanying William the Conqueror on his conquest of England. He is disgusted at the carnage and chaos of war and is somewhat obsessed with keeping the peace and quelling disorder before it gets out of hand. A member of the Toreador Clan, the most sophisticated and artistic of the several vampyre groups that form the Camarilla.

Eramus The vampyre narrator of a collection of short stories by Ronald Chetwynd-Hayes called The Monster Club (1975). Of indeterminate age, Eramus first appears late one evening on a London street where he attacks Chetwynd-Hayes. He bites him, but not deeply enough to turn him into a vampire. When Eramus learns his victim's identity, he apologizes because Chetwynd-Hayes is his favorite writer. To show just how sorry he is, he invites the author to join him at the Monster Club, an underground hotspot where modern day vampyres and other creatures of the night gather to socialize.  Eramus promises Chetwynd-Hayes that he will gather plenty of material here for his new book.  The Monster Club was brought to the screen in 1985 with Vincent Price assuming the role of the vampyre. It was also turned into a comic book featuring artwork by the graphic artist John Bolton.
Evans, Hugh Poet Hugh Evans, a centuries-old vampyre, emerges as the ultimate source of the group of female vampyres known as the Vamps, who lend their name to the comic book series of the same name (DC Comics 1995-96). A contemporary of Shakespeare, as a young man he encountered an ogre of a vampyre who, due his ugliness, had difficulty luring victims.  He first broke Evans back and then transformed him into a vampyre very slowly, so the damage never healed.  He then used Evans to attract his meals. It was many years before Evans finally was able to get away from him.
