Who are these shape shifting
beings of the night? Do they really exist?
What relationship, if any, is
there between werewolves and witchcraft? What of the Shaman and the
spiritual traditions of other cultures? What about werewolf
history, chronology and mythology? What of the distorted
"Hollywood" portrayals of the werewolf monster that can
transmit this curse to another through the slightest scratch
of the werewolf's claw?
Having always been a seeker and
student of things strange, unusual and unknown, it is my belief that
each of us has some seed of the werewolf (lycanthrope) hidden
somewhere deep within our DNA. We have met the werewolves and they
are us!
That the majority of the human
populace has learned to contain this savage bloodlust that is associated
with the werewolf in particular, and channel it in other directions is
probably one of the few saving graces of the human race; one of
the few things that allows most humans to live in some sort of
reasonable and civilized manner.
And to my mind, much to the
degradation of the human race, even the wolves of nature are not as
savage and cruel to their own species as human's are towards their own
kind.
